What is the minimum PC specification required for Clisp Studio?
For the minimum specification please click here PC Minimum Specification. If you require additional assistance, please contact our sales department.
Can Clisp Studio automate multiple testing machines?
Yes, Clisp Studio can control & run multiple test stations concurrently, though as a matter of best practice, please refer to our PC specification Guide for recommendations.
If you require further information, please contact our service department.
Where are my test results stored?
Your test results are stored in an industry strength Microsoft SQL database on the PC. You can backup this database and restore it at any time, you can also configure Clisp Studio to store a secondary backup file in the location of your choice.
For reasons of disaster recovery and power outages we would suggest you don’t “put all your eggs in one basket” and split up your lab into “Stations” and put in place backup power and external data storage in the event of PC Hardware failure. This is of course best practice in all mission critical systems and no different from any other software system, for instance you wouldn’t leave your email or customer database without a regular, scheduled, offsite backup and the same applies to Clisp Studio.
If you require further assistance, please contact our service department.
Can I get my data out of Clisp Studio to create my own reports?
Yes, there are four ways to get data out of Clisp Studio.
- You can Export an entire test from the File menu.
- You can export any table of data by Right Clicking the top-left-most cell of a table and selecting Copy to Clipboard or Export to CSV or Excel.
- We also support the AGS 4.0 export standard in some modules*
- You can access the database directly and use MS TSQL to query and export any data currently stored in your database, this is best left to the experts however and we suggest you use the built in Export features of Clisp Studio.
* AGS Support is an optional extra and this requirement should be mentioned at the time of purchase. Also note that it is currently only available on selected Test Modules, if it is not available on the Module you need, please ask our sales team about adding it.
What operating systems does Clisp Studio support?
Clisp Studio will work on all operating systems from XP (Service Pack 3) onwards. Windows 10 Pro is the recommended operating system, however at this time, other Windows 10 versions are not recommended for use with Clisp Studio.
(Note: Users of Windows 8 will need to make sure that all Windows Updates are done, as Microsoft deployed an update for critical components that are required by Clisp Studio.)

Our computer Hard Drive has failed, can we recover our database?
If your computer’s Hard Disk fails completely then it is unlikely you will be able to recover data from it*.
However, if you are able to connect and access it, you can use “Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio” to back up your database for restoration on a separate correctly working Hard Drive.
For instructions on how to do this, please contact our service department.
*There are some companies that specialize in data recovery, this is not a service we can provide as it is beyond the scope of our support.
