The Casagrande method evaluates the relationship between the moisture percentage of a soil sample and the number of blows required to close a groove made into the soil. This determines when a clay soil changes from a plastic to a liquid state.
The liquid limit device consists of a suspension assembly and cam mechanism, which drops a removable brass cup onto a hard rubber base. A counter is included to display the number of drops.
VJ Tech provides a hand operated Casagrande model and a motorised version with a speed of 120 drops per minute.
We also provide accessories that may be required.
