Software Module Overview

csCBR

The Clisp Studio csCBR software module is an add-on to the core package (csHost) that makes it easy for the User to set-up, control and monitor California Bearing Ratio tests to evaluate the load-bearing capacity of soils used for building roads in soil testing laboratories, and collate and output the results in industry standard or User defined formats

CBR Test Setup

Clisp Studio csCBR comes with the easiest test creation and setup of any Geotechnical CBR software package available today. Select the appropriate Standard and proceed through the steps of the wizard, initially setting up the hardware and specimen details relevant to your Test set up.

CBR Test Definition

Initial Test Setup

Once the Test equipment has been set up, csCBR enables you to create the required test to either BS1377-4 or AS1289.

The wizard can then be used to select the Triaxial Frame and associated Load and Displacement Transducers being used for the Test from pull-down menus on the Hardware Setup screen.

Specimen Details Setup

The Dimensions setup screen will automatically calculate and display the Specimen’s Area, Volume and Bulk Density from the Height, Diameter, Weight and Particle Density data you enter. Similarly, the Moisture setup screen will automatically calculate and display the Specimen’s Moisture and Dry Density from the entered Wet Weight, Dry Weight and Tin Weight.

CBR Test Setup Stages

Configure

CBR Test Configuration

With Clisp Studio you can omit the Soaking Stage if not required, select the preparation method used for the sample and set up the Test parameters.

CBR Soaking Stage Setup

Soaking Stage Setup

The Soaking Stage can be omitted if not required by checking the tickbox in the wizard.

If a Soaking Stage is included, the data logging rate and Soaking Stage duration are specified.

CBR Test Setup

The preparation method used is selectable and data logging starts at a specified rate one the input seating Load has been achieved.

The Test is terminated when a specified penetration has been achieved and/or an input Load reached.

Execution and Results

CBR Test Execution & Results

You are able to monitor the status and condition of the CBR test as it proceeds. Live Views, Graphs and Tables show test progress while summary windows give Instrument, test and sample status at a glance. The final results are available in Live, Graphical and Table form and can easily be exported to data manipulation packages.

  CBR Test Results

Live Test Views

For both Soak and Test stages, we offer predefined live data views to observe the most commonly measured variables (such as Height, Load and Penetration) and calculated data (such as Change in Height and the CBR values at different penetrations) for the specimen being tested, while the Test Stage is running.

The final Views show the Moisture and CBR value results.

Live Graphical and Table Views

Predefined graphs and tables are available for you to view both the Soaking and Test stages as they progress. The Soak Stage graph plots Time vs. Change in Height and the Test stage plots Load vs. Penetration with either true or actual zero applied. The tables for both stages display the most commonly measured parameters and expected results at the specified logging intervals.
