The 'New Test' Option (SUP0066)

Nov 21 2014

The 'New Test' Option in versions of Clisp Studio newer than 2.3.62.1305 has two functions:

  1. Creating a new empty copy of your existing test

  2. Creating a copy of an existing test including the data recorded.

This feature will allow users to start a new test using the same conditions as a previous test, saving time and avoiding potential human errors that could be made when inputting test conditions.

Click here to download this guide as a pdf.

New Test Option

With a test that is open in Clisp Studio but not running the New Test option is available.

When the New Test option is selected the following window will open.

The Two Options available will do:

1. New (empty) set

This will create a copy of the test you currently have open. The copy will be empty of test data but will have the test set up that you used previously copied to the new test. This includes: hardware setup, specimen details and the test specific stage setup used previously.

This can be useful if you have multiple tests to undertake using the sample test specification, design specific test setups for different material types or even helping inexperienced users setup new tests correctly.

2. Clone (copy) all data from the original test

This option will copy the test you currently have open and clone it. It will copy everything including the logged data from the test.

This option is useful if you wish to reassign a test to a new client, jobfile, borehole or sample for reporting purposes.

Changing Details of the New Test

The following can be changed before a new test is created:

Note once the new test is created the old test will automatically be sent to the database archive.
