Unsaturated Frames & Apparatus
Our Triaxial testing Load Frames are used with double wall cells for double wall Unsaturated Triaxial testing, They are manufactured to a high specification from quality materials and have proven reliability. The Advanced TriSCAN load frame has a built-in four channel stand- alone data logger for data acquisition from transducers whereas the Standard TriSCAN load frame is a low cost simpler version which is exactly the same as the Advanced version but without any data logging.
VJ Tech's Bishop & Wesley type Unsaturated Twin cells are precision made specifically for unsaturated triaxial testing in soil testing laboratories and are available in various sizes to suit a range of specimen sizes. They have an inbuilt ram to provide axial load up to 10 kN and a maximum pressure of 2000kPa. They have 5 non volume change valves and 4 ports in the base of the cell for internal transducers, and are designed with specially coated material to minimise corrosion.
The VJ Tech Unsaturated Soil Testing Shearbox is used to carry out unsaturated shear tests on soil samples up to 75mm (square or round) in a sealed sample chamber. The pneumatic loading concept is utilised for applying the vertical load to the sample (compressed air supply required). When testing, suction is maintained using a Pneumatic APC at the top of the sample and a Hydraulic APC at the base. Built in data acquisition automates the testing by recording the horizontal and vertical loads and displacements. The Unsaturated Shearbox is bench mounted, designed for harsh lab environments and is of rugged construction.
