csODO

The Clisp Studio csODO module is an add-on to the core package (csHost) that makes it easy for the User to set-up, control and monitor both Manual and Automatic Oedometer Testing in soil testing laboratories, and collate and output the results in industry standard or User defined formats.

Clisp Studio csODO comes with the easiest test creation and setup of any Geotechnical Shear software package available today. Choose between Standard or Double Collapsible test type, select the appropriate Standard and proceed through the steps of the wizard, initially setting up the specimen details and hardware relevant to your Test set up.

Oedometer Test Types

Clisp Studio only shows you what you need, so if you have chosen standard BS1377-5 then we will only show you test types applicable to that standard. csOedo includes everything you need to create Oedometer Tests and will perform these tests against British, American, French or Australian standards.

Wizard Driven Setup

A powerful and intuitive Test Wizard will guide you through the Setup, from the selection of the Hardware to be used and details of the Specimen, through to the data you require for the Swelling and Consolidation stages.


Personalised Hardware Setup

Because laboratories and research establishments often have numerous Testing Stations with many different Instruments, the Hardware setup screen has been designed with that in mind and will only show you the choices relevant to your selected Test Type and Installed Hardware, this enables the user to easily select the right Instrument required for Control or Transducer Input.

Specimen Details Setup

The Dimensions setup screen will automatically calculate and display the Specimen’s Area, Volume and Bulk Density from the data entered by the User. Similarly, the Moisture setup screen will automatically calculate and display the Specimen’s Moisture, Dry Density, Voids Ratio and Degree of Saturation from the entered data.

Oedometer Test Configuration

With Clisp Studio you have complete control of Oedometer Testing with an optional Swelling Stage before the Consolidation. Every aspect of each stage can be configured to perform a standards based test or a custom test specific to your exact needs.

Swelling Stage Setup

It is usual to include a swelling stage but you are able to omit it if required by unchecking the tick box in the ‘Assistant’ window. You can choose when to start the Swelling stage and all calculations are performed automatically as the stage progresses with all data logged at your specified intervals.

The swelling Stage can be terminated by stress or settlement change or a maximum time period all of which you can specify. The final Swelling Pressure level can then be entered in the Specimen Dimensions screen to be used in the final Test calculations.


Consolidation Stage Setup

Our ‘Consolidation’ stage setup screens enable you to set up any number of loading increments, each with its own configuration. You can specify whether data is logged at predefined time intervals, at rates specified in a table or when the settlement changes by a specified amount.

You can specify whether each Consolidation stage increment is terminated by Settlement Change over a time period or a specified Maximum Time is exceeded and the last Vertical Stress applied can be maintained if required to stop the sample swelling between increments.

You are able to monitor the status and condition of the Oedometer test as it proceeds. Live Views, Graphs and Tables show test progress while summary windows give Instrument, test and sample status at a glance.

Live Test Views

For all three stages (Saturation, Consolidation and Shear) we offer predefined live data views to observe the most commonly measured variables and calculated data for the specimen being tested, whilst the Test Stage is running. This enables you to keep a close on eye on the measured parameters to check that everything is progressing well. Clisp Studio also enables you to customize the desired Live Data from the list of variables that are relevant to that particular stage.



Live Graphical and Table Views

For both stages (Swelling and Consolidation) Clisp Studio enables the User to monitor the Test progress both graphically and in the form of a table whilst the Test Stage is running. There are Predefined Graphs which plot using the usual axes and predefined Tables which display the most commonly measured parameters and expected results as the Test progresses, but the User can also customize the desired Graphs and Tables from the list of variables that are relevant to that particular stage (see the Customisation section).

As well as the completed Live Data View, Graphs and Table, csODO gives you a Summary Graph and a number of reports covering the Soaking and Swelling stages.

Clisp Studio csOedo produces all the required calculated data, results and associated values usually associated with the Swelling Stage of an Oedometer Test including the specimen Stress against time graph. 

 

Reports

When you purchase Clisp Studio csOedo we provide Settlement and Stress Analysis Industry Standard reports.

We also provide an extremely useful summary report which summarizes the Test.


Consolidation Results 

With csOedo, on screen cursors enable you to calculate the t50 (Casagrande) and t90 (Taylor) values and there are many features to manipulate both graphical displays to your display requirements.

The Consolidation Test Results Views provide you with the Final Moisture calculations, corrected Dimensions of the specimen and the calculated t50, t90 and Pre-Consolidation Pressure values.

Data Export

The Oedometer Test results data can easily be exported to commercial data manipulation packages for further analysis and the test data saved and reused should this be required.
